Meet Your Farmer at Union Fair

Aug 02, 2014

Union — The Union Fair will be hosting a farmers market where local farmers and growers will have the chance to offer their products to fair-goers.

This will give fair-goers a chance to meet and speak with local growers and producers and buy some locally produced products.

Fair organizers are looking for local growers and producers to participate in the Union Fair Farmers Market. For $20, participants will be offered a 10-foot by 10-foot display area where products can be offered to more than 3,000 fair-goers from 2 to 5 p.m. The fee also includes two one-day gate passes to the fair so participants can enjoy other fair activities.

Local agriculture day will be held at the fair Sunday, Aug. 17. There will also be a Farm and Garden Equipment auction at 10 a.m., sheep herding demonstrations at 1, 3:30 and 6 p.m., Kids Barnyard games at 2 p.m., open and youth poultry shows at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively and do not miss the first annual Youth Market Beef and Lamb show that will culminate in the auction that will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19.
