Medomak Valley set for homecoming fun Sept. 21-23Soccer against Lincoln County rival, golf, night football among activities
Waldoboro — An historic night football game, a golf tournament and athletic contests against longstanding Lincoln County rivals in soccer will be among the highlights of the homecoming festivities Friday through Sunday, Sept. 21-23 at Medomak Valley High School.
Homecoming activities begin on Friday, Sept. 21 with a fourth-period pep rally and then Medomak Youth Football games from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on the school's front field. That will be followed by a night football game, under the lights, at 7 p.m. on the baseball outfield.
There also will be a parade from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and tailgating during the football game. There will be a bonfire at 8:30 p.m.
The homecoming fun continues on Saturday, Sept. 22, with a pie tent, to benefit the senior class, face painting, to benefit the freshman class, and a raffle, to benefit the sophomore class, held all day.
Athletic events that day include boys junior varsity soccer at 9 a.m., girls junior varsity soccer at 11 a.m., boys varsity soccer at 1 p.m. and girls varsity soccer at 3 p.m. All games will be against Lincoln County neighbor and rival Lincoln County of Newcastle.
There will be a chicken barbecue, sponsored by the MVHS All-Sports Boosters, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $8.
There will be a dance for MVHS students 7 to 10 p.m.
On Sept. 23, the fourth annual MVHS Golf Classic will tee off at 1 p.m. at the Rockland Golf Club. The cost is $75 per person or $300 per foursome. The event is a fundraiser for the Panther golf program. For more information, call 542-0668.
