Medomak Valley inducts 16 into honor society

Waldoboro — Medomak Valley High School inducted 16 members to the National Honor Society in a solemn candlelight student-run ceremony Jan. 13, in the Ronald E. Dolloff auditorium.

President Cyril Miller, with the assistance of co-vice presidents Benjamin Rawstron and Ashton Harvey, hosted the event for inductees and their families.

Regular members of the school's society reminded all in attendance of the importance of this achievement and the extraordinary habits of mind and service that contributed to it. Senior NHS member Taylor Mason delivered the evening address encouraging the inductees to pursue their dreams.

Having demonstrated excellence in the tenets of scholarship, leadership, service and character, the new members are: Shania Melvin, Jordan Moore, Alexa Genthner, Olivia Ryan, Hannah Marks, Bailey McCaffery, Halie Haskins, Tristan Look, Aaron Smeltzer, Gavin Flech, Clarence Porter, JP Lobley, Meredith Laliberte, Christiane Wadsworth, Kaitlyn Hanson and Hannah Heald.
