Rockland — An elderly Rockland woman was found dead Jan. 4 outside of a residence on Washington Street, said police.

Rockland Police Deputy Chief Wally Tower said the Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the case, although nothing appears to be suspicious concerning the death.

The call alerting police to the situation came in around 8:30 a.m. Jan. 4, said Tower.

Tower declined to give the age or name of the deceased.

Contacts at the Medical Examiner's Office were not immediately available to provide further information.

The owner of the home is Roxie Hill, according to city records.
