Due to declining health, Meda was forced to retire. This was hard for her, as she especially loved working at Goodwill, her coworkers and the public.
Meda was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the highlights of her life and she loved them with her whole heart.

Meda will be sadly missed, her daughter sums up her feelings with these words:
My mother is a woman like no other. She gave me life, nurtured me, taught me, dressed me, fought for me, held me, shouted at me, kissed me, but most importantly, loved me unconditionally.
There are not enough words I can say to describe just how important my mother was to me, and what a powerful influence she continues to be… Mother, I love you."
At Meda’s request, there will be no funeral, her family will remember her life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sussman House, c/o Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation, 22 White St., Rockland, ME 04841.
