Mechanical failure causes car accident on Old County Road
Thomaston — A mechanical failure caused an early morning accident Thursday, Aug. 9.
Brian Robillard, 18, of St. George was driving north on Old County Road in Thomaston when a mechanical defect with a strut caused his Nissan Pathfinder to veer right and crash into a telephone pole at 6 a.m., according to Thomaston police.
Robillard refused transport to the hospital and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was a total loss and the impact of the crash broke the telephone pole.
The Thomaston Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
The telephone pole was replaced Aug. 9.
