McKeown retires from Camden District Nursing board

Feb 10, 2014
Chris Hardy, Secretary, Elaine Davis, Vice-President and Chris McIntosh, Treasurer, thank out-going President Bob McKeown for his service to the Camden Area District Nursing Association.

Bob McKeown completed his term as President of the Board of Directors of the Camden Area District Nursing Association on Jan. 15. Under his leadership the Association met quarterly and oversaw the services provided to residents of Camden, Rockport, Lincolnville and Hope.

The staff of registered nurses, including Ann Feeney, Director, Judi Lydon, Fran Sims and Barbara Forti, along with substitutes Pauline Wilder and Roe Chiachio, visit patients in their homes to carry out doctors’ orders for well-being checks, medications, wound care, bathing and foot care. The organization charges up to $25 per visit and does not process Medicare or insurance payments.

Fundraising is an important challenge for the Board which sends out annual appeal letters to residents of the towns served. This year people in Lincolnville and Hope were contacted, and next year Rockporters will be contacted. A new fundraising project was introduced during McKeown’s term: the popular fall public supper at the Rockport Masonic Center

Board members include Elaine Davis, Chris Hardy, Chris McIntosh, Sheila McFarland, Rosemary Winslow, Julie Clement, John Long, Julia Libby, Brenda Richardson, Linda Annis and Judy Clossey.
