McFarland Northeast-10 Spalding co-player of week

Waltham, Mass. — Following his impressive effort in an 89-84 win over Southern New Hampshire University of Manchester, N.H., Bentley University sophomore forward Tyler McFarland of Rockport has been named the Spalding Men’s Basketball co-player of the week in the Northeast-10 Conference, as he shares the honor with Franklin Pierce University senior Ellis Cooper.

McFarland, a Camden Hills Regional High School graduate, powered the unbeaten Falcons to their 11th consecutive victory with 32 points, including 19 in the final 14:20 after Bentley fell behind by 10 points, and eight rebounds. He shot 12-of-18 overall, made 4-of-5 3-point shot attempts and was perfect on his four free throws.

McFarland finished November with the conference’s fourth-best scoring average at 20.9 points. He leads the NE-10 in total field goals (61), and also ranks third in 3-point accuracy (.556), sixth in rebounds (8.6) and eighth in field-goal percentage (.598).

As of Dec. 2, Bentley was 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NE-10.
