ROCKLAND — Maurice “Moe” Proctor, 59, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at a Waterville hospital following an extended illness.

Born in Rockland on July 21, 1952, he was the son of Otto K. Sr., and Pearley Robinson Proctor. He was educated in Rockland schools.

For many years, Moe worked at area seafood processing factories, including National Sea Products and North Lubec Canning Company.

Moe was often seen riding his bike around town. He was proud to have once hitchhiked to California and twice to Connecticut. He enjoyed doing puzzles.

Moe was predeceased by his father Jan. 13, 2000. He is survived by his mother, Pearley of Rockland; two brothers, Otto K. Proctor Jr. and his wife, Darlene, of Rockland and Loring E. Proctor and his wife, Debby, of Thomaston; three sisters, Sharon Rawley and her husband, Ivan, Susan Ward and her husband, Marcel, all of Rockland, and June Morris and her husband, Philip, of Tenants Harbor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 21 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22. Pastor Tom Rawley will officiate. Interment will follow in Achorn Cemetery, Rockland.
