Marshall Point 5K road race takes off July 21
St. George — One of the tell-tale signs of summer for Midcoast runners is the annual Marshall Point 5-Kilometer Lighthouse Loop road race.
That race, part of the St. George Days celebration, is slated for Saturday, July 21, with the children's fun run at 8:25 a.m. and the 3.1-mile run at 8:30 a.m.
The scenic course on the St. George peninsula begins at Drift Inn Beach in Port Clyde and winds its way to the Marshall Point Lighthouse, through the village of Port Clyde and ends back at the beach.
Prepaid registration for the race is $15, while race day registration is $20. Free t-shirts will be given to the first 50 registrants. Proceeds will benefit the St. George Parks & Recreation Department Boosters.
The first three finishers in each age group will be recognized and prizes will be awarded for first-place male and female finishers.
