Marjorie N. Martin
Waldoboro — Marjorie Nathalie (Colwell) Martin, 94, of Waldoboro, died Easter morning, April 20, 2014, at Windward Gardens in Camden.
She was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Hancock, a daughter of the late Allison and Lydia (Shaw) Colwell. She graduated from Waldoboro High School a member of the class of 1938.
On May 22, 1939, she married Louis L. Martin.
Mrs. Martin was a life member of Lakeview Chapter No. 179 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Waldoboro Senior Citizens, Lady’s Shrine Club and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Waldoboro.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband who died in 2004; three sisters, Beatrice Cowley, Lucille Dimock and Allison Willey; and a brother, Warren Colwell.
Mrs. Martin is survived by: three daughters, Suzanne Young and her husband Phillip of Cushing, Lynette Lawson and her husband Buddy of Waldoboro and Martha Hodgdon and her husband Ken of Florida; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Mrs. Martin’s life Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m. in the German Protestant Cemetery, Bremen Road, Waldoboro. Should friends so desire, donations may be sent in Mrs. Martin’s memory to the Waldoboro Food Pantry, P.O. Box 832, Waldoboro, ME 04572-0832.
