Friendship — Maine Coast Artist Gallery, 10 Harbor Road, invites the public to the opening reception for its “Maritime Show” Saturday, July 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. The reception coincides with those at Philippe Guillerm Gallery, Tidemark Gallery and Old Number Nine in Waldoboro.

The “Maritime Show” will feature boats, mariners and all that they touch, depicted in fine art paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor, sculpture, half-hulls and drawings, as well as fine craft items. Artists include Barry Tepper, Kat Logan, Pam Cabanas, Jim Toilles, Bill Steele, Helen Warner, Elaine Niemi, Jane Herbert, Ann O'Hara, Gwen Sylvester, Holly Vose, Crystal Lee, Obidiah Buell, Kerry Rodriguez, Philippe Guillerm, Jean Kigel, Willy Reddick, Tim Christensen and others.

Friendship is the home of the design and building of the famous Friendship Sloop and continues to be a working waterfront with a large, lobster fishing community. Kat Logan, curator of the show and owner of the gallery, looks to honor this with the art show. The evening will offer an opportunity to meet with the artists, enjoy conversations and enjoy complimentary refreshments and beverages.

On Saturday, July 26, at 7 p.m., Maine Coast Artist Gallery will host a special concert featuring Nick Apollonio and Bob Stuart called Songs of the Sea, in honor of this exhibit. Reservations are suggested as space is limited.
