Mariners split recent matches with Eagles, ShipbuildersMedomak Valley hosts Mount Ararat in Sept. 25 match
The Oceanside golf team has experienced an up-and-down regular season, but the Mariners are looking to finish strong down the stretch.
The Mariners, on the heels of their most recent matches against Lincoln Academy of Newcastle Sept. 25 and Morse of Bath Sept. 23, are 6-4 with only a few matches left on the schedule.
Medomak Valley, on the heels of its most recent match with Mount Ararat of Topsham, is 1-8 and also looks to finish strong in its final matches.
The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A and B qualifier will be Tuesday, Oct. 8, with the top five teams in Class A and the top five teams in Class B qualifying for the state team championships Saturday, Oct. 12.
The individual schoolboy and schoolgirl championships will be Saturday, Oct. 19. All three events will be at the Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.

Lincoln Academy 166, Oceanside 181
At Wawenock Golf Club in Damariscotta Sept. 25, the Mariners dropped a decision to the host Eagles by 15 strokes. The Eagles prevailed over the Mariners by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 166 to 181.
Oceanside's individual stroke totals were: Nick Mazurek 39, Reilly Flanagan 44, Zeke Hamlin 47, Zach Bernard 53, Griffin Lombardo 51 and Riley Sprague 53.
Lincoln Academy's individual stroke totals were: Seward Matel 36, Bailey Plourde 43, Austin Armstrong 40, Liam Brinkler 47, Dana Hatch 63 and Natalie Whitney 56.
Matel, who shot 36, earned medalist honors.
Mount Ararat 194, Medomak Valley 211
At Rockland Golf Club Sept. 25, the Panthers were downed on their home course by the visiting Eagles.
The individual results, with Medomak Valley golfers listed first, were: Adam Wilcox (49) lost to Tyler O'Connor (39); J.P. Lobley (62) lost to Cam Cox (51); Tyler Emerson (45) beat Steve Schuman (55); Cam Allaire (62) lost to Jeremy Williams (49); and Aaron Smeltzer (55) beat Jason Magno (60). Sawyer Matson shot 61 for Mount Ararat.
O'Connor, who shot 39, earned medalist honors.
Oceanside 172, Morse 210
At Bath Country Club Sept. 23, the Mariners sailed to their sixth win of the year, this time over the host Shipbuilders. Oceanside prevailed over Morse by a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 172 to 210.
Oceanside's individual stroke totals were: Nick Mazurek 38, Reilly Flanagan 39, Zeke Hamlin 45, Griffin Lombardo 50 and Reilly Sprague 57.
Morse's individual stroke totals were: Wes McKenna 50, Evan Parsons 52, Pat McKenna 53, Andrew Lacarvera 55, Matt Fontannez 56 and Collin Bradford 62.
Mazurek, who shot 38, earned medalist honors.
