Rockport — Police say a woman who was napping Saturday afternoon awoke to find an unknown man in her house.

A call concerning the suspicious activity came into the Rockport Police Department at 2:20 p.m. April 12 and Sgt. Travis Ford responded to the scene, said Rockport Police Chief Mark Kelley.

The woman, who lives on Rockville Street, was not injured by the intruder. When she awoke from a nap on the couch, the man ran from the residence, Kelley said.

Ford said at this time, there are no leads on who the intruder is.

The man was described by the resident as having a heavy-set build and about 5 feet, 9 inches in height. He was wearing sunglasses, a hooded sweatshirt, and a Red Sox baseball cap, said Ford.

The chief said no other incidents similar to this have been reported to the department.
