Make your mark with stamp art
Rockland — Artist Sue Reed will return to the Coastal Children's Museum to lead an all ages stamp-making workshop Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to noon.
Museum visitors will be invited to upcycle pieces of wood and self-adhesive foam to create unique and personalized stamps. Participants will try out their handmade stamps printing cards that any Easter Bunny would be honored to receive.
Reed was born in Missouri, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri, with a Master of Fine Art in printmaking/drawing. She has worked as an independent artist for more than 20 years. She has brought her unique techniques and whimsical eye to workshop at the children’s museum in the past and currently her work is being shown at Camden National Bank.
Reed leads an all ages art workshop Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor. An online gallery of her work can be seen at sueannreed.com.
The workshop is included in the price of admission and free for members.
Advance sign up is helpful in order to anticipate supplies needed but the workshop will be open to all museum visitors during the hour long workshop.
