Rockland — Carol L. Maines of District 1 in Rockland was chosen Jan. 8 to be the chairman of the Knox County Commission.

Elected to the commission in 2010, she succeeds Roger A. Moody of District 2 of Camden.

Moody said the commission believes in having rotating chairmanships

Richard L. Parent of District 3 in Warren is the vice chairman.
