Maine Women's Network organizes bowling, game night

Nov 13, 2012

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, The Maine Women’s Network will host an evening of bowling and games — a fun networking event to benefit Toys for Tots. Bring  husbands, partners or friends along for an evening of networking with friends, bowling and games. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the Knox/Waldo County Toys for Tots program.

Since 1947, the mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has been to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. All donations collected in the community will go to children in Knox and Waldo counties. Last year, more than 4,400 toys, books and stocking stuffers were delivered to more than 1,400 children in the community that would have otherwise received nothing for Christmas if it had not been for Toys for Tots.

This month’s meeting takes place at Point Lookout Bowling Alley at 67 Atlantic Avenue in Lincolnville from 5 to 8 p.m. This year’s theme is, “Networking: Reaching Out” with a full season of speakers and activities focused on making personal, professional, and community connections.

This meeting is sponsored by Midcoast members Jane Dagley of Camden National Bank and Kim Palermo of Elm Street Printing & Graphics.

The cost, which includes pizza, salad and dessert, time for networking and the activities, is $22 for members and $30 for guests of members and/or non-members. Guests and non-members are always welcome. To encourage couples, Maine Women's Network is offering a special couple’s price of $50 per couple. Online pre-registration for members, guests and non-members is required by Friday, Nov. 30. Register online at mainewomensnetwork.com by clicking on the “Event Registration” link.
