Maine Sport Triathlon Aug. 31 at Barrett's Cove

Camden — The 34th annual Maine Sport Triathlon will be Sunday, Aug. 31 at 9 a.m. at Barrett's Cove on Megunticook Lake.

The event begins with a half-mile swim on Megunticook Lake, a 26-mile bike ride through Camden, Lincolnville and Hope, and finishes with a 6.6-mile run through Camden. The race typically attracts 200 or more participants each year.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. Individuals can participate in all three stages, or two- and three-person teams can register as well.

Prizes are awarded, t-shirts are given to all participants and post-race refreshments will be served.

The directions to the launch/landing area at Barrett's Cove from downtown Camden include taking Route 52 north toward Lincolnville Center. Barrett's Cove is approximately three miles from downtown Camden.
