Maine Media Women have fun
Damariscotta — For a change of pace, Maine Media Women will enjoy a hands-on workshop at Midcoast Printmakers' Saturday, March 1. There will be no business meeting; and members and guests should plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. so there is more time for instruction, printmaking and fun. Midcoast Printmakers is located at the corner of Belvedere Road and Main Street/Business Route 1.
There will be coffee and networking at 9:15 a.m., as usual. In order to plan projects and work areas, RSVPs are required for this meeting by contacting Genie Dailey at 549-5518 or email@example.com.
Each attendee will be provided with paper, inks and other necessary materials to make a 5-by-7 inch print. However, people may bring their own smooth papers, envelopes, stencils, textured cloth (such as lace) or dried grasses and flowers to use in their creations.
This is an opportunity to try something new, so a variety of materials will be welcomed. Well-known local printmaker Debra Arter will lead the workshop. Limited parking is available in front of the studio, with additional space available across the street.
The March 1 meeting, like all MMW meetings, is open to the public, and guests are always welcome. Suggested donations are $3 for members and $5 for guests. For more information, visit mainemediawomen.org or the organization's Facebook page.
Maine Media Women is a nonprofit organization whose members include writers, artists, photographers, graphic designers, editors and publishers, website designers and specialists in print and electronic media. Meetings are held at the Mobius Center in Damariscotta or at the American Legion Hall in Thomaston, unless otherwise noted.
