Maine Attorney General to address Tea Party

Warren — Attorney General William Schneider will be the guest speaker at The Maine Teaparty, Inc. meeting in Warren on April 7.

Attorney General Schneider is a career prosecutor, a retired U.S. Army officer, and a former Assistant Republican Leader in the Maine House of Representatives.

Also speaking will be Rep. Deb Sanderson from Chelsea. She will be sharing her experience as a freshman legislator.

Socializing begins at 6 p.m. for a social time and then the meeting starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. at the Masonic Hall on Route 90 in Warren.

The groups goal is to inform citizens about current political issues. The public is welcomed and is encouraged to attend. There will be refreshments available.

Maybe this is a foolish question, but: I thought Governor LePage was against speaking to special groups such as the Tea Party? Or did that only apply to blacks and gays? If not, why is he sending HIS attorney general to Warren?
