If you are looking for something other than hostas or ferns to liven up your shade garden, join Dennis Milliken as he returns to Merryspring on Tuesday, March 6 at 12:00 noon for a talk on shade perennials. From hardy Actaea to exotic Tricyrtis, learn about a variety of plants that not only survive, but can thrive in the shade. Milliken’s favorites will highlight his powerpoint presentation as he offers helpful tips and tricks on planting these beautiful perennials.
Milliken is a life-long gardener who has worked in the horticulture industry for over 40 years. He has done garden design, and is a certified pesticide applicator. Milliken was one of Merryspring’s charter board members and currently works for Green Thumb Nursery in Rockport.
This year's Winter Talk Series at Merryspring is being co-sponsored by The First (www.the1st.com) and by Allen Insurance and Financial (www.alleninsuranceandfinancial.com).
Admission to the Tuesday Talks is free to Merryspring members and children. There is a $5 charge for non-members. Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden.
