Lura Libby hosts luau

Thomaston — The Friends and Family of Lura Libby Group hosted a luau at the school Feb. 8. Many families and others from the area were in attendance.

Students and attendees had numerous activities to chose from including crafts, music and physical activities.

There was a Barefoot Books room with story telling, puzzles, drawing and more.  .

Treats of fruit salad and other refreshments were served in the Snack Shack .

A photo booth was also available for families and friends to could get decked out with Hawaiian garb and props and have their photograph taken.

Door prizes were raffled off at the end of the event.

Beth rejoined Courier Publications' news staff in February 2013. She previously worked at The Courier-Gazette from 1981 to 1990.

Her coverage area includes Warren, Union, Friendship, Waldoboro, Washington, and Thomaston and RSU40.

Beth has a passion for photography, and a degree from the University of Maine at Augusta, in affiliation with the Maine Photographic Workshop in Rockport.

Aside from photography, Beth enjoys running and walks along the waterfront, as well as other outdoor activities. She has a daughter, Claire, who is 13.
