Love Your Library Silent Auction under way in Waldoboro
Waldoboro — Waldoboro Public Library presents, Love Your Library Silent Auction.
Time to shed the winter blues and cabin fever and visit the library where more than100 items are available for bidding from Jan. 30-Feb 15 at the library's annual silent auction.This year there is an option to bid anonymously (by number) for those who wish to do so.
Many local items are available this year including a shawl from Village Farm Alpacas, a Maine Float Rope doormat, yarn, knitting books and patterns from Eagle's Nest Yarn; a waterproof jacket from Mid-Coast Marine Supplies; handmade children's sweaters; a handcrafted bench and a handcrafted table.
Also up for auction are family memberships to The Medomak Valley Land Trust, The Boothbay Botanical Gardens, The Maritime Museum in Bath, The Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, The Owls Head Transportation Museum, and The Sail, Power and Steam Museum, as well as tickets to the Children's Museum in Rockland.
Other items include books, jewelry, a marble pastry board, children's toys and puzzles, four gift certificates to Toys-R-Us, and gift certificates to Spears Farmstand, Moose Crossing, a pie from Moody's Diner and to several local book stores and hair salons. Enjoy a facial at Rheal Day Spa, get your eyes checked at McCormick and Bouchard's, go bowling at All-Play or how about ski tickets to the Camden Snow Bowl? There is more than one opportunity to cruise local bays on a boat to Monhegan, a puffin cruise with Hardy Boat Cruise and a kayak rental. Enjoy a week in a cabin on Damariscotta lake or in Rangeley.
Also available for auction is a year-long maintenance contract from Maine Coast Energy. There is also a priceless opportunity up for auction- bid to be a character in one of author David Rosenfelt's upcoming novels.
Come into the library to see these and many more. Proceeds from the auction benefit the operating funds of the library.
