Lone Star State blues
Rockland — The Monday night blues series at Time Out Pub, 275 Main St., continues Monday, March 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. with the Willie J Laws Band. Admission is $10.
The Willie J Laws Band performs music from a wide variety of genres including traditional and contemporary blues, R&B, Old School and old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll. Although the band members have changed over the 21 years since the first unit was first formed, Laws continues to expertly wield the lead guitar and be lead vocalist.
A veteran performer, Laws engages and involves the audience with easy charm. His band performs with a solid foundation of pocket grooves, mixing it up from time to time with special guests. Principal performers of the group hail from the Lone Star State, proudly working to uphold the more than 100 years of Texas music tradition that integrates a variety of American roots music and the unique cultural influences of Texas.
Upcoming in the weekly series are: March 18, Mississippi Heat ($15); and March 25, Samantha Fish ($15).
