Local author releases ninth novel
St. George — Local author Susan Vaughan has released a new romantic suspense trilogy. When federal agents of Task Force Eagle go after a Mexican cartel kingpin, they face unexpected hazards —to their hearts.
“Never Surrender,” “Once Burned” and “Twice a Target” are available in print and as digital downloads, as well as at Reading Corner in Rockland. Each book can stand alone, but an overall suspense plot ties them together. Maine is the setting for the first two books; the third moves the action to Colorado. “Never Surrender” received five stars from Awesome Indies, which termed it a fast, sexy read.
Vaughan taught full-time and part-time in the former MSAD 50 schools for 29 years. She has had published two nonfiction publications in the field of beginning reading; one young adult novel; and, with these new releases, nine romantic suspense novels. Her books have won the Golden Leaf and More Than Magic awards and have been an RT Book Reviews Magazine Reviewer’s Choice Nominee and a finalist for the Booksellers’ Best and Daphne du Maurier awards.
Vaughan, whose books have been translated into German, French, Spanish and Icelandic and published in more than 11 countries, is a member of Sisters in Crime, the Romance Writers of America, Maine Romance Writers and Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Women Teachers. She writes monthly blog articles at mainecrimewriters.com. Readers can find excerpts of all her books at her website, susanvaughan.com.
