Lively Ladies show opens Aug. 27

A Stell Shevis watercolor will be on display as part of the late summer Lively Ladies show.

Rockland — “Anything Goes,” a new art exhibit by the Camden-based The Lively Ladies, will open Wednesday, Aug. 27, with a 5 to 7 p.m. public reception in the Garage Gallery at Eastern Tire Service, Inc., 70 Park St.

The exhibit affords the artists individual expression and full opportunity to experiment in something old or new, making it possible to see what the artists were feeling at the time they painted in watercolors, oils or acrylics.

Drawn largely from the Midcoast area, The Lively Ladies artists are Stell Shevis of Camden; Marietta Raneri of Rockport; Lois Anne, Nancy Fitzgerald and Deborah Winship of Rockland; and Lincolnville residents Lauralee Clayton and Rebecca Thompson. Also showing will be Edith LaRoche of Searsmont and Elizabeth O'Haverty of Palermo. Members of the group began meeting to paint together 30 years ago in the home of Stell and William Shevis.

The exhibit is slated through summer and early autumn. Gallery hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, except for holidays.

Marietta Raneri also will show watercolors at the Garage Gallery.
