Waldoboro — The Medomak Middle School Drama Troupe will present “Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.” Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.; and twice Saturday, March 30, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. in the Ronald Dolloff Auditorium of Medomak Valley High School, Manktown Road.

The musical, designed for middle-school age performers, is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. “Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.” takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she will have to defy her father, the king of the sea; escape the clutches of an evil sea witch; and convince a prince that she is the girl with the perfect voice.

Cast members are Amber Hagin, Micah Morin, Sarah Harvey, Somerset Ganz, Juno Buendia, Antyna Gould, Aja Quintal, Ella Grant, Katie Staples, Zoe Gammon, Ashley Eugley, Halie Brown, Caroline Dustin, Jana Horovitz, Brianna Tierney, Myles Frederick, Shelby Wile and Rose Hickey. This production is directed by Nancy Durgin, choreographed by Isabelle Lobley and costumed by Linda Grant.

Admission will be $5. For those who like the idea of a dinner-and-a-show, there will be a community spaghetti supper to raise funds for a two-day, overnight Boston class trip to for the MMS eighth graders Saturday, March 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the middle school. Cost for the dinner is $5 or $15 for a family (parents and children). One also may buy a dinner/theater ticket for $8, which allows you to see either the matinee or evening show as well as enjoying the spaghetti supper.
