Lindquist reads at Rockport library
Rockport — The celebration of National Poetry Month at Rockport Public Library, coordinated by the library’s Poets' Corner Workshop, concludes Wednesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. with a reading by Camden poet Kristen Lindquist.
Lindquist works for Coastal Mountains Land Trust, which has conserved the Hatchet Mountain Preserve in Hope. Her chapbook “Invocation to the Birds” was published in 2001, and her collection “Transportation” came out in 2012 and was a finalist for the Maine Literary Award in Poetry; three poems from that book were also read by Garrison Keillor on "The Writer's Almanac."
Lindquist’s writings have appeared in various journals and magazines including the Herald Gazette, Down East and the Bangor Daily News. An avid birder, her natural history column appears regularly on Pen Bay Pilot and she also writes a daily haiku blog, "The Book of Days."
