Wiscasset — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reported the following crashes:

May 8

Deputy Kenneth Hatch investigated a crash on River Road in Newcastle involving Sherburne P. Degarmo, 76, of Newcastle and Laurie A. Robbins, 44, of Waldoboro. Degarmo’s 1999 Dodge Durango was parked on the side of the road near a driveway. Robbins pulled out of the driveway too sharply and sideswiped Degarmo’s vehicle with her 2005 Ford Taurus. No injuries were reported.

May 12

Hatch investigated a crash on Main Street in Whitefield involving Alan A. Smith, 37, of Waldoboro and Sally J. Oliver, 61, of Somerville. Smith’s 2013 Kia Sorento was parked legally and unoccupied. Oliver was backing her 2002 Mazda up and did not see Smith’s vehicle and backed into the side of it. No injuries were reported.

An arrest or summons does no constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
