Waldoboro — As part of its regular program of support to Lincoln County food pantries, the Lincoln County Democratic Committee donated foodstuffs to the Waldoboro Food Pantry April 30.

Food Pantry Co-Director Ellee Simons expressed her “appreciation to Lincoln County Democrats for the substantial donation” and noted that it was “particularly timely because they had not received their regular shipment from the Good Shepherd Food Bank this week.” Simons added that the demand at the food panty continues to rise and that more than 100 households are now served on a regular basis.

Lincoln County Democrats collect non-perishable items at their monthly meetings and other gatherings to benefit Lincoln County pantries. The next opportunity to donate foodstuffs will be at the Frances Perkins Award Banquet, which will take place Saturday, May 17, at 6 p.m. at the Waters Edge Banquet & Function Facility in Edgecomb. For more information on this event and how to donate foodstuffs, please contact Betsy Wooster at betsywooster@gmail.com.
