On June 24, 2007, "The Winnie Barbour Teardrop" sign was placed on the island at Rt. 73 and North Shore Drive.  A dedication was held in Owls Head to honor and to hold in memory a long time resident and member of the Owls Head Garden Club, Winnie Barbour.  A hard working Garden Club committee spent a lot of time in bringing this sign and dedication to fruition and were told how nice it was by so many people to drive by and remember Winnie.    The sign is now gone and we implore anyone who knows anything about this disappearance to please contact us.  The sign means a lot to us and if it is no importance to the person or persons taking it, please return it to the island where you took it or anonymously drop it off at The Owls Head Community Building. We would appreciate any help in getting this sign back and placed on the teardrop island.  Thank you very much.
