Let's talk Turkey organic farming
Rockport — The Rockport Public Library in partnership with the Camden Conference present "Turkish Delights: A Wwoofers Odyssey in Asia Minor."
This presentation slide show and talk, on Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m., highlights a recent foray into Turkey's organic farming scene. The talk will be held at Rockport Public Library.
The presenter, Chuck Marecic discusses his experiences on four farms in three diverse regions of the country — Eastern Black Sea, Central Anatolia and the Aegean, as well as provides some insights into Turkey's organic farming movement.
Marecic is director of the English program at Penobscot School in Rockland where he brings people to Midcoast Maine from all across the world to study English and share cultures and experiences. He also lives off the grid, gardens organically and is inspired by the principles of permaculture.
The mission of the Camden Conference is to foster informed discourse on world affairs through year-round community events. The 2014 focus is The Global Politics of Food and Water.
