Leppanen’s ‘Indebted’ gets national attention
Belfast — Local artist, and former bank affinity credit card worker, Eric Leppanen’s “Indebted States of America,” which was created late last year, has recently been featured in a couple of high-profile news blogs.
Stories about how Leppanen came to have 23 years worth of discarded credit cards and how he turned them into recycled art may be found on both The Huffington Post (“Eric Leppanen, Maine Artist, Turned Life Of Easy Credit Into Political Art”) and NBC News’ Bottomline (“Credit card debt transformed into art lesson”). The work itself may be seen on Leppanen’s website, ealart.com, where it is on display … and for sale.
