Rockland — Penobscot School invites registrants to a cooking class to be held at the school Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m.to 1 p.m.

Louise MacLellan-Ruf will guide students in preparing her famous Lobster Mac and Cheese Rockland Style that recently won first place in the Lobsterpalooza Cooking Contest. Instructor and cooking enthusiast, Nohora Estes of Columbia, will add a pinch of Spanish for those interested in practicing.

Eating her way from South America to Asia, MacLellan-Ruf has embraced cultures and unique culinary experiences. What she learned is that simple ingredients are best. If you use the and finest and freshest ingredients, cooking delicious dishes is easy. MacLellan-Ruf has both emceed and entered several cooking contests.

Estes teaches at Riley and Penobscot schools. She possesses a keen ability to make learning fun and exciting. With two sons of her own, Estes knows how to make dishes flavorful while mixing in a bit of language learning.
