Learn-to-curl sessions slide in Jan. 5

Belfast — The Belfast Curling Club will host two learn-to-curl sessions on Sunday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The event is for those who would like to try curling or who are interested in joining the curling club, located on Route 3, two miles west of Belfast.

Registration can be accomplished online at belfastcurlingclub.org and click on "learn to curl" or call Steve McLaughlin at 685-9540.

The cost is $10 to participate. Those who participate should wear loose, comfortable clothing, dress warmly and bring clean sneakers. One also can watch for free.

"Everyone is welcome to watch any game at no cost, any time," said Janet Weaver of the curling club. "If there are cars in the parking lot, we're curling inside. Come on in. You can also rent our ice with your friends using our you-can-curl opportunities."
