Laughs from France and Italy
Thomaston — Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents its Friday Night Film Series with screenings Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in the community room of Thomaston Public Library in the Thomaston Academy Building, 60 Main St./Route 1. The theme for November’s movies is French and Italian Comedy.
The month will open with “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” an Italian delight from 1963 that runs 119 minutes. Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Tina Pica and Giovanni Ridolfi star in this Oscar winner for Best Foreign Film. In an impeccable trio of comic tales, Loren plays three women who use sex in various ways to get what they want. Her striptease for Mastroianni is among the most famous scenes in her career (and remains pretty steamy).
Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. The Thomaston Academy Building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
