Kruger elected Maine Lobster Festival president
Rockland — At its annual meeting Oct. 29, The Rockland Festival Corporation, producer of the annual Maine Lobster Festival, elected a new president, vice-president, and four new members to the board of directors.
Elected president for 2014 was Chuck Kruger of Thomaston. Vice President will be John Jeffers of Rockland. Reelected for another term as treasurer was Katie Chilles of Rockland, and Laurie Smith of Rockland was reelected secretary.
Joining the volunteer board are Amy Shepard Pease and Brandy Perkins of Rockland, Bob Bird of Thomaston, and Peter Beal of Rockport. All have been involved in various aspects of the festival in past years.
Directors took a special moment to salute the service of Tim Carroll of Owls Head who has served as president for the past five years.
“Tim has been a terrific president,” said long-time Festival Director Bob Oxton of Camden in a news release. “His dedication and steady hand in leadership have been very important to the continued success of our Festival.”
Planning is already well under way for the 67th annual Maine Lobster Festival, set for July 30 through Aug. 3, 2014 on the waterfront at Harbor Park in Rockland. For more information, go to mainelobsterfestival.com.
