The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to 309 calls for service March 9-15.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

March 9

While conducting a property check in South Thomaston, Sgt. James Moore came upon a suspicious vehicle with five occupants inside. Following this, the operator was issued summonses for drug related charges.

Deputy Paul Spear began an investigation of harassment in Spruce Head. This is still an active investigation.

Deputy Lance Mitchell conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.

Following a traffic stop in Owls Head, Moore issued a summons for failure to  provide valid inspection.

Following a traffic stop in South Thomaston, Deputy John Hansen issued a summons for operating after suspension.

Mitchell began an investigation of theft in Union. No charges were sought but both parties were issued warnings for trespass.

Mitchell arrested Scott Landry, 35, of Cushing on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Mitchell and Hansen responded to a report of an adult female attempting to harm herself in Union. The female was located and voluntarily transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.

March 10

Deputy Matt Elwell began an investigation of harassment in Owls Head. The male suspect was located and issued a warning for same.

Moore arrested Frank Johnson, 30, of Cushing on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Hansen began an investigation of harassment in South Thomaston. The female suspect was located and issued a written warning for same.

Mitchell conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

Mitchell conducted a radar detail in Appleton. One warning was issued.

Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren. Following this response, the vehicle was stopped and two summonses were issued for alcohol offenses.

Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

March 11

Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained. The operator was transported to PBMC by Waldoboro EMS for injuries sustained.

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

Detectives Dwight Burtis and Reginald Walker responded to a report of a domestic in Owls Head. The male subject involved was issued warnings for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. No assault had taken place.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Deputy Michael Sprague issued summonses for operating unregistered motor vehicle and expired license.

Spear responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Warren. The vehicle and operator were located and issued a warning for same.

Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of a domestic on Vinalhaven. Upon arrival and after speaking to the subjects involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only.

Deputy Nathaniel Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Friendship involving a single vehicle rollover. Reportable damage sustained.

March 12

Mitchell and Moore responded to a report of a domestic in South Thomaston. Upon arrival and after speaking to the subjects involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only and the male was issued a warning on disorderly conduct.

Spear responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Union. The vehicle and operator were located. Summonses were issued for drug related charges.

Potter responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven involving a single vehicle. The passenger was transported to the mainland for injuries sustained. The vehicle was destroyed.

March 13

Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a radar detail on North Haven. No violations were noted.

Smith began an investigation of harassment in Rockport. This is still an active investigation.

Smith arrested Jason Walsh, 31, of Thomaston on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was incarcerated at the Knox County Jail on other charges.

Smith responded to a report of a 911 hang-up call in Union. Upon arrival, it was found that a verbal argument had taken place and the parties separated for the evening.

March 14

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Hansen issued a summons for expired inspection.

Spear conducted a radar detail in Union. One warning was issued.

Following a traffic stop in Washington, Hansen issued a summons for expired inspection.

Sprague responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Spear issued a summons for expired insurance.

Joslyn conducted a radar detail on the island of North Haven. No violations were noted.

Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.

Deputies Sgt. John Palmer and Lt. Kirk Guerrette responded to a report of a domestic in Union. Following this response, Lynn Jacobs, 43, of Union was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault.

Smith arrested Earl Leigh, 39, of Owls Head on an outstanding arrest warrant out of New Hampshire.

March 15

Mitchell conducted a radar detail in St. George. No violations were noted.

Palmer conducted a radar detail in Warren. No violations were noted.

Smith conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.

Smith arrested Ryan Hopkins, 23, of Union on an outstanding arrest warrant.
