The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to 304 calls for service Aug. 4-10:

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Aug. 4

Following a traffic stop in Hope, Deputy Michael Sprague issued a summons for speed.

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Deputy John Hansen arrested Jay Cifaldo, 38, of Warren on a charge of operating under the influence. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Deputies Paul Spear and Sgt. James Moore responded to a report of two disorderly males in Owls Head. Upon arrival and after speaking to both males, it was found that they had solved their differences and went their separate ways.

Deputies Lance Mitchell and Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of a domestic in Owls Head. Upon arrival and after speaking to the subjects involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.

Deputy Matt Elwell arrested Khidhr Odom, 20, of Camden on a charge of operating under the influence. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Deputy Paul Pinkham arrested David Glidden, 23, of Cushing on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Hansen and Moore responded to a report of two disorderly males in St. George. Hansen arrested Joshua Howard, 25, of Thomaston on a charge of violating condition of release and terrorizing. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Spear began an investigation of theft in Owls Head. This is still an active investigation with evidence obtained from the scene for processing.

Spear arrested Melanie Allen, 38, of Warren on an outstanding arrest warrant. She was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Hansen, Spear and Moore responded to a report of a domestic in Friendship. Subsequent to this response, Jason Wotton, 38, of Friendship was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault and criminal mischief. Mark Wotton, 58, of Friendship was also arrested on a probation violation. Both subjects were transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Moore responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle whose operator left the road, striking a tree. Reportable damage sustained.

Hansen and Spear responded to a report of a domestic in Cushing. Upon arrival, it was found that the male subject fled the scene. Probable charges are pending.

Aug. 5

Elwell conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

Elwell conducted a radar detail in Appleton. One warning for speed was issued.

Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Spear arrested Derick Winslow, 23, of Waldoboro on charges of violating conditions of release and operating without a license. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Hansen and Moore responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a motorcycle. The operator was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center via Warren Rescue due to injuries sustained and later issued a summons for attaching false plates.

Moore responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a moose. Reportable damage sustained.

Hansen began an investigation of harassment in Washington. The suspect in this case was located and issued a warning for same.

Aug. 6

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Hansen arrested Jeremiah Hogan, 23, of Waldoboro on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Elwell conducted a radar detail in Appleton. No violations were noted.

Elwell began an investigation of threatening in Friendship. The suspect was issued a summons for terrorizing.

Moore responded to a report of burglary in Cushing. Upon arrival, the item in question was located.

Spear arrested Joel Gehrmann, 25, of Rockland on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Aug. 7

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle striking a deer.

Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a trespassing complaint on North Haven. The male suspect left without incident.

Palmer conducted a radar detail in St. George. No violations were noted.

Deputy Robert Potter began an investigation of harassment on Vinalhaven. The suspect was located and issued a warning for same.

Moore conducted a radar detail in St. George. One summons and three warnings were issued.

Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

Mitchell arrested James Pendleton, 40, of Camden on two outstanding arrest warrants. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Mitchell arrested Brandon Jimenez-Roberts, 20, of Owls Head on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was taken to Knox County Jail without incident.

Aug. 8

Following a traffic stop in Friendship, Pinkham issued a summons for speed.

Potter responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Mitchell conducted a radar detail in St. George. No violations were noted.

Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Moore arrested Marty Hewlett, 47, of Appleton on a charge of violating conditions of release. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Aug. 9

Subsequent to a traffic stop in Rockport, Detective Justin Twitchell issued a summons for operating unregistered motor vehicle.

Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in Union involving two vehicles, one of which rear-ended the other. Reportable damage sustained.

Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving two vehicles, one of which rear-ended the other. Reportable damage sustained.

Mitchell responded to a report of a disorderly female in St. George. The female was located and issued a warning for same.

Aug. 10

Palmer and Moore responded to a report of a domestic in Washington. Following this response, Shannon Merrill, 42, of Washington was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and transported to the Knox County Jail without incident. The male involved was also issued a summons for domestic violence assault while being treated at Pen Bay Medical Center for injuries sustained.

Mitchell and Moore responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Upon arrival and after speaking to the subjects involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only.

Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Pinkham issued a summons for failure to display valid inspection.

Potter responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.

Pinkham conducted a radar detail in Appleton. No violations were noted.

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear arrested Ryan Hill, 20, of Warren on charges of operating after revocation and violating conditions of release. He was taken to Knox County Jail without incident.
