The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to 326 calls for service Feb. 23 to March 1:

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Feb. 23

Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

Deputies Paul Spear and Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a domestic in Cushing. Upon arrival and after speaking to the people involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties separated for the evening.

Feb. 24

Deputy Michael Sprague began an investigation of theft in Warren. The suspect in this case was located and charged with same.

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

Sprague began an investigation of theft in Warren. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named.

Deputy John Hansen responded to a report of trespassing in South Thomaston. The suspects in this case were located and issued a warning for same.

Hansen began an investigation of theft in Cushing. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named.

Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

Potter responded to a report of a domestic on Vinalhaven. Upon arrival and after speaking to the parties involved, this was deemed a verbal argument only and the subjects were separated for the evening.

Hansen began an investigation of harassment in Cushing. The suspects in this case were located and issued a written warning for same.

Feb. 25

Following a traffic stop in Cushing, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued a summons for operating after suspension.

Deputy Arthur Smith conducted a radar detail in Hope. Four warnings for speed were issued.

Feb. 26

Smith, Pinkham and Jack responded to a report of a domestic in Cushing. Following this response, Andrew Monroe, 29, of Rockland was arrested on charges of burglary, domestic violence terrorizing and criminal mischief.

Sprague responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Spear conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.

Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

Smith conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.

Smith and Jack responded to a report of a domestic in Warren. Following this response, Robert Armstead, 57, of Warren was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, a probation violation, possession of drugs and violating conditions of release.

Feb. 27

Sprague arrested Samuel Beverage, 29, of Rockland on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Detective Dwight Burtis arrested Louis Alex, 73, of Thomaston on a violation of a protection from abuse.

Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a radar detail on North Haven. No violations were noted.

Following a traffic stop in South Thomaston, Spear issued a summons for operating after suspension.

Feb. 28

Spear arrested Cameron Kilton, 29, of Warren on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Sgt. James Moore and Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of a disorderly in Union. A summons was issued for assault.

March 1:

Moore responded to Owls Head to conduct a well-being check on an elderly female. Upon arrival, it was found that both subjects were extremely intoxicated and were issued a warning for disorderly conduct.

Following a traffic stop in Owls Head, Pinkham issued a summons for expired inspection.

Joslyn conducted a radar detail on North Haven. No violations were noted.

Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Potter began an investigation of burglary on the island of Vinalhaven. This is still an active investigation with no suspects or leads at this time.

Spear conducted a radar detail in Washington. Several stops were made due to various traffic infractions.
