The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to 266 incidents Jan. 26 to Feb. 4:

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Jan. 26

Following a traffic stop in Camden, Deputy Arthur Smith issued a summons for driving to endanger.

Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Friendship involving a single vehicle. Following this response, the operator was issued summonses for operating without a license and attaching false plates. Reportable damage sustained.

Deputy Paul Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Deputies Lance Mitchell and Sgt. James Moore responded to a report of a domestic in Owls Head. This was deemed a verbal argument only. The parties were separated for the evening and both issued warnings of harassment.

Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of an erratic vehicle on Vinalhaven. The vehicle was located, on its side with no one around. The operator was later located and issued summonses for failure to report accident by quickest means and leaving the scene. The vehicle was a total loss.

Smith and Moore went to Friendship to conduct a probation check on an adult male. Following this response, Danny Reed, 58, of Friendship was arrested on a probation hold.

Moore arrested Joseph Malburg, 47, of Owls Head on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Jan. 27

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. One operator was issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign, which was the key factor in this crash. Reportable damage sustained.

Mitchell conducted a radar detail in South Thomaston. No violations were noted.

Moore arrested Adam Griffin, 30, of Warren on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Smith arrested Nick Adkins, 23, of Warren on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Jan. 28

Detective Justin Twitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Elwell began an investigation of harassment in Union. The female suspect was issued a written notice for same.

Elwell began an investigation of trespassing in Union. The male suspect will be issued a written notice for same once located.

Sprague began an investigation of harassment/trespassing in Warren. The male suspect was issued a written notice for both.

Potter conducted a radar detail on Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.

Deputies Spear, Smith, John Hansen and Lt. Kirk Guerrette responded to a 911 hang-up call in Hope. Upon arrival, it was found that a domestic had taken place. Following this response, Matthew Berry, 36, of Lincolnville was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault. He was taken to Knox County Jail without incident, where he was also issued summonses for OUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Spear arrested Thomas Weeks, 33, of St. George on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Jan. 29

Deputy Jeremy Joslyn conducted a radar detail on North Haven. No violations were noted.

Sprague responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.

Hansen began an investigation of theft in South Thomaston. Following this investigation, Jesse Seward, 30, of South Thomaston was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, theft and a probation violation.

Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on North Haven involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Deputies Nathaniel Jack and Sgt. Moore responded to a report of an assault in Warren. The suspect was later located and issued a summons for same.

Spear and Hansen responded to a report of a domestic in Cushing. Upon arrival, it was found that this was a verbal argument only and the parties separated for the evening.

Jack and Moore responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle. The vehicle sustained reportable damage and the passenger was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center via Union Ambulance for injuries sustained.Following this response, Ryan Turner, 32, of Union was arrested on a charge of OUI drugs.

Moore arrested Tiffany Batty, 32, of Rockland on two outstanding arrest warrants.

Jan. 30

Sprague conducted a radar detail in Union. One warning for speed was issued.

Potter responded to a report of a domestic on Vinalhaven. Upon arrival, this was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated for the evening.

Sprague, Pinkham and Detective Dwight Burtis responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Following this response, Gabriel Grover, 22, of Union was arrested on charges of assault and criminal use of an electronic devise, along with Edward Grover, 24, of Union being arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, obstructing report of a crime, domestic violence criminal threatening and domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Joslyn conducted a radar detail on North Haven. No violations were noted.

Spear arrested Isaac Hubbard, 32, of Brooks on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Jan. 31

Spear arrested Becky Condon, 24, of Washington on two outstanding arrest warrants.

Hansen conducted a radar detail in Owls Head. No violations were noted.

Feb. 1

Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

Following a traffic stop in the town of Warren, Deputy Pinkham issued a summons for no inspection.

Spear responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Hope. The vehicle and operator were located and showed no signs of impairment.

Sgt. John Palmer arrested Christina Karod, 21, of Rockland on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. No damage.
