Kiwanis donates $500 to assist in publication of “My Teddy Bear Says”
The Kiwanis Club of Rockland donated $500 to assist in the publication of a book designed to assist families and children to identify and report sexual abuse. My Teddy Bear Says, by Kathleen Fox, features a teddy bear who finally realizes that "I'm Gonna Tell." Created by Fox and 16 students in a class on Sexual Abuse and Trauma at the University College at Rockland, the book was published by Maine Authors Publishing of Rockland. All proceeds from book sales go to the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA). The book is currently available at local book stores and on amazon.com for $15. Kiwanis president Amy Pease presented a check for the effort at the Kiwanis meeting on March 18th.
