Key Club president Samantha Calamari speaks to Kiwanis about Key Leader Weekend
The Kiwanis Club of Rockland received an overview of the experiences of
local high school students at the recent Key Leader weekend, and the New
England District Key Club convention, from Oceanside East High School
student and Key Club president Samantha Calamari. Calamari prepared a
power-point presentation to show the activities at the two events, which
are designed to teach leadership and life skills. Calamari's
presentation occurred during the regular weekly Kiwanis meeting held at
the Samoset Resort on November 12. Calamari is shown after the meeting
with Kiwanis member and long time Key Leader adviser Jane Thompson of
Warren, [left], and Kiwanis president Amy Pease of Union. It was noted
at the meeting that Thompson was also the adviser when Pease served as
president of the Key Club when she was a student at Rockland District
High School. Key Club is one of several Service Leadership Programs
sponsored by Kiwanis clubs. The Rockland Kiwanis group also sponsors a
Builders club and a K-Kids club, in addition to the Aktion Club of Knox
County, a fully-chartered Kiwanis club for disabled adults. FMI:
