Kaye is 'The Court Jester'
Thomaston — Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents its Friday Night Film Series with screenings Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in the community room of Thomaston Public Library in the Thomaston Academy Building, 60 Main St./Route 1. The theme for January's movies is Comedies of Yesteryear.
The Jan. 11 film is "The Court Jester," a 101-minute film from 1956. When the infant king of England is deposed by a wicked pretender, the man charged with tending to the baby monarch tries to set things right by wriggling his way into the castle and impersonating a court jester — with zany results. The film stars Danny Kaye, Glynis Johns, Angela Lansbury, Mildred Natwick and Basil Rathbone.
Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. The Thomaston Academy Building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
