OWLS HEAD — Justin R. McNeilly, 22, died accidentally Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Holyoke, Mass.
Born in Biddeford on Sept. 21, 1989, he was the son of Marc T. and Launa Huff McNeilly. After moving to this area, Justin attended local schools and was a 2007 graduate of Rockland District High School. Upon graduating Justin enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After graduating from Sub Mariner School, he served as a machinist mate out of Bremerton, Wash., until his honorable discharge in June 2011. He briefly attended Olympic University in San Francisco, before returning home in December 2011. Justin had a passion for music, especially percussion instruments. He enjoyed walking the Rockland Breakwater.
Other than his mother and father, Justin is survived by his paternal grandfather, Alvin S. McNeilly; his maternal grandmother, Ethel Rezendes, all of Owls Head; five sisters, Maggie McNeilly of Bangor, Ashley McNeilly of Owls Head, Jennie Greene and her husband, Michael, of Standish, Melissa Carter and her husband, Andrew, of South Thomaston, and Crystal McNeilly of Portland; three brothers and their wives, Joshua D. and Michelle McNeilly of Madison, Conn., Jason H. and Jennifer Townsend of Brandon, Miss., and R. Douglas and Sheila Townsend of Hampden; several aunts and uncles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family services are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland.
