Junior Brown comes to town
Rockland — Legendary country music guitarist and singer Junior Brown will bring his unique voice, songwriting craft and signature Guit-Steel guitar to the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m.
Brown’s double-necked instrument combines standard guitar with steel guitar, allowing him to switch instruments quickly in mid-song while singing. His repertoire spans neo-traditional country honky-tonk and Western swing, blues, Tex-Mex tunes and surf-rock instrumentals. Brown has released nine studio albums and has charted twice on the Billboard country singles charts. His music also has been showcased on various TV shows and movie soundtracks.
Tickets are $20, general admission. The Strand balcony and lobby bars will be open for those ages 21 and older with a valid ID. Media sponsor for the concert is Maine Magazine.
