Journaling with Takashi author
Rockport — Author Lucinda Hathaway will preside over a fun-filled afternoon of travel-inspired art and reading from her two Takashi books Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St.
Hathaway, who lives in Camden in the summer, is the author of two very popular chapter books for children (age 8 to 12) about a young Japanese boy who has a series of adventures as he travels the seas at the turn of the twentieth century. It was her adventures with Takashi that inspired Hathaway’s love of using paintings and drawings to “tell about my travels and my everyday life.”
She has been doing watercolor journaling for five years and one of her passions is to introduce others to this creative endeavor. Hathaway considers her role to be a cheerleader and enjoys teaching children watercolor journaling.
The workshop and book reading are free, but space is limited. For more information, call 236-3642 or email email@example.com.
