Jingle Bell Express chairs speak to Kiwanis
The Kiwanis Club of Rockland heard from the Jingle Bell EXPRESS
committee in the final days of preparation for the popular train ride
that goes from Rockland to the North Pole. Co-chairs Marjorie Kinney of
Thomaston, [left], and Katie Tarbox of Spruce Head, discussed the plans
and volunteer assignments during the weekly Kiwanis meeting on the 3rd
of December. More than 150 volunteers were involved in the weeks
leading up to the two-night event that brought riders from three states
and more than 40 separate Maine towns and cities. Several of the
volunteers were non-members of the Kiwanis Club, including Barry Norris
of Union, pictured with the co-chairs. Planning for the 2013 Kiwanis
Jingle Bell EXPRESS aboard Maine Eastern Railroad is already under way.
