Jane’s view at Tidemark Gallery
Waldoboro — Stephen Jane’s highly original work is on display through May 3, along with paintings, sculpture, pottery, books and cards by other local artists, at Tidemark Gallery, 902 Main St./Route 220. The public is invited to an opening reception Saturday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Jane may be inspired by ancient pictographs chipped into weathered granite hundreds or thousands of years ago by ancient, unknowable ancestors or views of equally unknowable planets. But seeing through this artist’s eyes, we understand the meaning of his words, “when reality is not enough.” It has always been Tidemark’s mission to present the work of local artists, often neighbors who one never knew were quietly working away, producing something astounding.
Tidemark is located at the crossroads in Waldoboro village. For more images and information, visit tidemarkgallery.com.
