Well it’s raining again but did get a load of clothes dried outside yesterday. Guess I’ll dry them inside today; I just hate to start the dryer. Same with the furnace but I did one morning. Seems it’s raining or has been raining every morning but then it will clear off later in the day.
Gee is there a ballgame on today…it’s a good day for it or start a book. Of course it’s Sunday so “In the Kitchen with David” should be on… shoot missed half of Pioneer Women on the cooking channel. It’s a down home show on a ranch. Sister Shirley and Leonard were going to the Clinton Fair after church today. Too bad it’s raining and nasty; it’s hard for them to go to a big fair. Brother Robert and Chase went yesterday.
September 6th is the birthday of nephew Jeff Henry in Florida and Rick Curtis. About 21 of us went out to supper to surprise Rick last night. Also its Kevin Ricker’s birthday, he’s like a nephew. Hope you all had a nice one.
Have seen 2-3 bunches of geese flying over…guess they are telling us something, like let’s get out of here. Sure hope not.
Have you seen the Brooks train station building?? It is way up in the air. It’s so nice they are preserving these old buildings like the school in Knox. They are working on that foundation now. Did you see the amount it’s going to cost to get that ship from Italy that crashed?? 900 Million, for some reason the US isn’t involved. Was a year or two ago it crashed.
This and That
I’ll get the this and that done and it’ll shorten my list. No I’ll watch Trisha Yearwood….
Do you have a Jackson cook book? Polly has a lot of them left and they’d make good Christmas gift.
Olson’s apple orchard is open. The trees are loaded. It’s on Route 7 in Dixmont.
Flu shots won’t cause the flu and it’s time to get one. I always get one and Chris and Polly have already.
Kids need to relax when you get home then do your homework. Some States are saying no homework. Also in some States it’s a $200.00 fine for boys with baggy pants and their underwear showing. Good idea.
I said I wasn’t going to mention Ortiz had his 2,000 hit in his career this week. They’ve done great this week. One game was 4-20 Red Sox and one game was 7 home runs between both teams. It’s winding down folks. But football has started which I won’t bug you about because I don’t know anything about it. Seems to me they are just trying to get hurt…about 10 on top of each other…running in to each other. Ah, yes, Mount View won Stearns I think 39 to something. I do keep track of Mount View. Alan Gibbs from Jackson is on the team. Hope I didn’t miss anyone…let me know.
On a Trip
I see Paul and Audrey Muler last night. They had been to Eastport at a convention. They even came from Florida, nice pictures folks.
My favorite sports person, Melissa Kim is leaving Bangor. She speaks Korean, German and English.
Is there any reason for law enforcement to drive like they do?? What they are going to has already happened. If an animal, car, or person steps out - it’s a disaster. Same with some trucks, they don’t even slowdown when they see a bus. My god think of a bus that’s been hit by a log truck or gravel truck. Gee have a heart; you’re not in that much of a hurry are you??
More This and That
Have a good week folks and get a lot down from the garden. Zucchini is plentiful. Marlene just told me she’s cooked 18 loaves of zucchini bread today. Pam and Lisa both make relish. Debbie hope you know how to spell it when you copy this over. I’m a terrible speller and thank god she’s a good one. (shhhhh don’t tell Bev about spell check!! )
I think there’s a zucchini cake I’ve ate. I think Lisa and the girls at EMMC have made it and I’ve at it up to Debbie’s. She’s got Roberta Braleys recipe. Good stuff.
Speaking of Lisa, she was at Ralph’s café and in came 2 ladies. After watching them she decided one was a teacher she had a Husson 26 years ago so they had a nice visit.
Ah yes, put my clothes in the dryer. No….the suns out and the wind is blowing…can’t believe it.
Rod Gray (the kid’s uncle) stopped by to say goodbye before he fly’s back to Florida for the winter. He’s so interesting to talk to.
Schools going good to the kids I’ve talked to…be it Ella in Brooks or Chase in Monroe. Morgan is in Northport and playing soccer and Ryan starts preschool this week. Says he’s going to high school…he’s only 3.
